Airbank's infrastructure puts all your bank accounts and finances into one place. We do this while maintaining highest security standards.
Multibanking: Putting all bank accounts into one place
We're connecting to more than 2000 bank accounts my using a Third-Party-Provider license through an aggregator partnership. These licenses allow access to Account Information Services and Payment Initiation Services and are regulated as part of the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) Berlin Standard.
PSD2 is a regulation that was introduced in 2015 by the European Union and is overseen by the European Banking Authority, and in Germany, by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
PSD2 allows banks to securely share data through authenticated channels with licensed third parties to access data and initiate payments. That's what we're providing at Airbank: Whenever Airbank displays bank data, your bank has given secure access for us to display these transactions while the bank maintains ownership over your data.
This regulation allows Airbank to offer bank-level security, strong customer authentification and secure messaging at the same or even higher standards than your bank.
Maintaining highest security standards
Beyond the security measures of the software providers that we are working with, we're doubling down on keeping your data safe. First, both your email, and your access are by default Two-Factor-Authenticated. That means, your login is secured by industry-leading standards.
Your data is stored using a zero-trust principle, meaning that no one (not even us) can see the data. This way we ensure that only authorized people that hold the account logins can access your bank statements.
Our servers, which are running the Airbank application, are hosted in the European Union. This way we make sure that no code, metadata, or any other locally stored session data ever leaves our jurisdiction. We are continuously penetration-testing our systems with the best security professionals in the industry. Security is at the core of everything we are doing. We're going above and beyond to make Airbank more secure every day.
