We here at Airbank work hard to ensure maximum coverage when it comes to banks and payment providers within the European Union and United Kingdom.

Nonetheless, there are still banks and other financial institutions that are not (yet) on our list.

If you notice a particular bank, financial institution or payment service provider is missing from our list - please let us know right away.

No matter what the reason for a particular company not being listed, we will try to get them included as soon as possible.

There are a number of reasons why a particular bank, financial institution or payment service provider is not found on our list yet.

In most cases, the reasons are:

  • The bank or financial institution is still in the process of adapting its system for open banking: in that case, it is just a matter of time & makes sense to try connecting to one’s account again in 2-3 weeks.

  • The bank or financial institution has not made its system fully available to open banking APIs: in that case, it might still take 2-3 months for the bank or financial institution to take the necessary steps. In such a case, we will get in touch with the bank in question on behalf of the customer to determine an approximate time frame.

  • The bank or financial institution requires a specific request from its clients to open their accounts to open banking service providers: in that case, we will provide direct support to the customer in requesting access from the bank.

  • The bank or financial institution is part of a network/or cooperative of banks and uses their system for their online banking applications: in that case, it is necessary to determine what network or cooperative the bank is a part of and use the name of said network or cooperative.

  • The bank or financial institution automatically blocks open banking data requests without providing a reason: in that case, we will get in touch with the financial institution to find a solution for the customer.

It is important to remember that open banking and related technological innovations are very new. Many banks, payment providers, as well as other businesses active in banking, transaction handling and similar industries are still struggling to adapt.
